JUNE 18, 2004: WE'RE BACK! with a new server and lots of new features coming up! Sorry for the long absence.

JULY 4, 2004: Happy Independence Day to you all! Our original server at the University of Illinois broke down from old age, apparently, and was not replaced. (Seven years on one server might be some kind of record for a litzine, though. We have to offer ample gratitude to UIC for keeping us going so long.) Now we have a new service provider and the potential for many new features as well as an expansion of our multimedia capacities.

In addition to the server problems, we are generally delayed, as a few of you have noted! We're not ignoring you--we've been ignoring everybody:) Our staff is quite busy right now with many things (in addition to being quite a small staff). Our apologies to all. But we are back on track now and due to get the new issue together before the summer's end.

OUR NEW EMAIL ADDRESS--rioarts@lycos.com

AUGUST 28, 2004: Issue 14-15 is up, our biggest ever with creative work from over 30 writers....definitely one of the best issues, I think. This issue also includes our second student section with writing by some very talented high school and college undergraduate students. Our good fortune that you found us!

If you subscribed to our mailing list last year but do not get a message in the next week or so about the new issue, please resubscribe (see the homepage). The short version of the sad story is the mailing list was on my crashed hard drive and while most of the drive was backed up, I forgot to back up the email (OOPS)....so I'm recompiling the mailing list. The easiest way to get on the list, besides using the form on the homepage, is by sending us a submission. But you can just send me an email as well.--Regards, Cynthia
