WOMAN IN FRONT OF A HIGH CASE OF MIRRORS, BUREAU MIRRORS, HALL MIRRORS, MIRRORS IN FRAMES OF WOOD, GOLD, TIN, SILVER

When she sees so
many reflections,
too many to focus on
she thinks of her
garden, how it
might have
worked if he had
helped her cut
away what went
so wild, too tangled
to see a way thru, like
so much between
them. The roots
needed what they
didn't get. When she
sees her eyes
lowered in the
glass she steps back.
It's too much to
deal with, tho it
might be easier in
the dark, where she
can't see that it's
taken this long to
see how what hasn't
been shaped and cared
for now can just be
hacked away
