Party Outside a Lean-To Shack

The littered yard gives back little
to the neon facades of man quivering,

the police pursuits ended here, earlier
while the liquor spilled into false flowers,

nor kept, nor slight of hand reunited
those stammered words, eclectic sayings,

verbs uttered before trees’ false shades
ten thousand leaves bent over and sighing.
